Why not go for a X-Surf and an Ethernet LAN? I use this on my A4000
and P3 laptop, and it works a treat.

For software, I can recommend Eytechs EZNet. 5 clicks and you're
working, and they include html docs to set up the PC side if you're
not familiar with it (I wasn't)

The ethernet connection using Samba allows you to see either machine
from the other, and pass files back and forth using DOpus or drag and
drop.
